In addition to the forum rules and guidelines outlined in the Member Handbook, our members should consider the following when requesting critique on their website designs as well as giving critique on other user's projects. Should you have any questions and/or need clarification of anything outlined in this post, please post in the forum's Support board.

WebSHOWCASE Guide
PostingWEBSITES ForCRITQUE- All website designs posted to this forum for critique must be your own original work. If needed, give credit when credit is due to someone else.
- Be sure, if you are showing off a website design, via image, to utilize the Add Attachment option provided to you when creating a new thread or post. This will allow you to post a clickable thumbnail that will enlarge when hovered over as well as allow it to be viewed in its full size when clicked on.
- Add a description to your website design projects. Explain what the website is about and why you created it. What was your inspiration?
- Be specific about the critique you are looking for. Do you simply want to know what people think of the layout? Do you want suggestions on how to improve it? What about the content? The more specific you are the better your chances are of getting the critique you are looking for.
- When you post website designs for critique, be sure to critique other user's work as well. This is a sure way to ensure that members will be interested in critiquing and helping you with your Web design projects.
- While it is not required, it is recommended that you thank the people that critique or offer suggestions on your work. You should do so individually, without double posting. Additionally, if a user makes a suggestion, it never hurts to try the suggestion and post an update.
- Also, if you want to post a live link to a Web project, we allow that. Please do not use this as a place to advertise though. This is merely a place to showcase your work and receive feedback.
PostingCRITIQUE
- When posting critique on a members work, always remember to be specific and as detailed as possible. All critiques should include a minimum of 2-3 sentences and should be clearly stated while easy to understand.
- Be sure to explain any suggestions that you make to a person's website design in terms of making the website better overall. If asked to, provide some examples. Not everyone is a professional Web designer.
- As stated above, it's a good idea to post critique on other user's work if you wish to have your work critiqued. It is good practice to do so.
- Be respectful and mindful in your critiques. Remember that not everyone is experienced in Web design. There is no need to bash them or talk down to them.
- Follow up after you critique. Check back in to see if someone responded with a question to your critique. Critique their updated version if they followed your suggestions.
